Parry Kauri Park

We first came to Parry Kauri Park on our holiday last year but never ventured into the park itself. It was lovely being back up here today taking our boys on a ‘jungle walk’ through the trees. The walkway winds through the dense forest on wooden walkways which makes it feel like a scene from Star Wars with ewoks jumping out at every turn!

The park is home to the McKinney Kauri – it is enormous, you just can’t gauge the scale of this tee in the photos. It’s 800 years old.

Within the park itself there are some much younger Kauris that seem just as tall but thinner – their trunks go on forever!
